PRIDE & HISTORY

Welcome to Walburgis Residenties in Arnhem!

In the 700-year-old imposing Walburgiskerk in the center of Arnhem, you can spend the night in a very special way. Six unique, luxurious hotel rooms have been created in the iconic towers, each with its own city theme in which Pride and History play an important role.

Burgers’ Zoo, the Kröller-Müller Museum and Park Sonsbeek are our pride. King Lodewijk Napoleon, the Roman Fort in Meinerswijk and the Battle of Arnhem – with the famous John Frost Bridge over the Rhine – are part of the History of Arnhem. Sleeping in the medieval towers, where even King Louis Napoleon once set his footsteps, is quite an experience. You can really feel the rich history of this church!

Two and four-person accommodations are available and each room is decorated with elements from the chosen city theme. In the rooms you’ll experience a beautiful combination of rich history, contemporary luxury and comfort. The rooms are also suitable for longer business stays, as wifi is available. Each room has a fully equipped kitchen, which includes a hob, an oven, a fridge and a dishwasher.

Lodewijk Napoleon | Master slaapkamer

Slag om Arnhem Penthouse

This impressive 4-person Penthouse has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen/living room and a Private Rooftop Terrace which offers a view of Arnhem and the surrounding area, in all directions.

The residence tells the story of the events in the Battle of Arnhem during the Second World War, in which the Rhine Bridge (nowadays: John Frost Bridge) played a very prominent role – a period that is remembered annually during the Airborne Commemorations in September.

Burgers Zoo | Master slaapkamer

Burgers’ Zoo Penthouse

This beautiful green 5-person Penthouse has two bedrooms, a bathroom and a kitchen/living room with a single sofa bed. On the Private Rooftop Terrace, next to the bell frame, you can enjoy the great view of Arnhem and the surrounding area in every direction.

The theme of apartment is inspired by the Mangrove in Burgers’ Zoo, where, in addition to a lot of greenery, you will also encounter countless beautiful butterflies, crabs, reptiles, manatees and paradisiacal birds.

Castellum Arnhem | Master slaapkamer

Romeins Fort Grand Suite

This stylish 4-person suite, which is also very suitable as a bridal suite, has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen/living room.

The theme of this stay is a reference to the Roman castellum that was excavated in the Arnhem district of Meinerswijk, south of the Rhine. The fortress was built between 10 and 20, possibly in preparation for the last Germanic campaign of Germanicus Caesar in 16 AD. It was part of the Limes, the northern border of the Roman Empire, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since July 2021.

In the apartment you’ll experience a nice mix of contemporary luxury and rich history, with numerous references to the Roman past.

Helene Kröller-Müller | Slaapkamer

Helene Kröller-Müller Suite

This intimate 2-person suite has a loft with a bedroom and a bathroom, a kitchen/living room and a balcony.

The apartment is furnished with elements that are characteristic of the museum of Helene Kröller-Müller in Park de Hoge Veluwe, such as a beautiful Van Gogh which is painted on your bedroom wall. In here, you’ll get a taste of all the beautiful things that can be admired in the museum.

Lodewijk Napoleon | Master slaapkamer

Lodewijk Napoleon Grand Suite

This majestic 4-person suite, which is also very suitable as a bridal suite, has two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a kitchen/living room.

The suite is furnished with the allure of the royal palace on Dam Square in Amsterdam, which King Louis Napoleon had converted from city hall into a ceremonial residential palace. The furnishings contrast beautifully with the sober, gothic interior of the church tower.

Park Sonsbeek | Slaapkamer

Rietveld Kröller-Müller Suite

This museal 2-person suite has a loft with a bedroom and a bathroom, a kitchen/living room and a French balcony.

The interior of this residence is an ode to Park Sonsbeek in Arnhem and the international art exhibition that takes place there every four years. The interior was created in collaboration with Museum Kröller-Müller in De Hoge Veluwe park.

In 1955, the artist Gerrit Rietveld achieved world fame during the 3rd edition of the exhibition by surprising the international world of art and construction with his pavilion. These days, his creation graces the fine gardens of the museum, where it houses sculptures. In this room you’ll not only find photo-wallpaper depicting the Sonsbeek Park and Rietveld’s pavilion, but also furniture and a lamp designed by the artist.
